What does rotating a PDF do?
Rotating a PDF permanently changes the orientation of one or more pages in the document. PDFLE supports rotating by 90° clockwise, 180°, or 270° clockwise (equivalent to 90° counter-clockwise). You can rotate all pages at once or select individual pages to rotate selectively. The rotation is embedded into the saved PDF file — not just displayed differently in the viewer.
How to rotate PDF pages online — step by step
- Upload your PDF — click "Select PDF file" or drag the PDF into the drop zone. Page thumbnails appear.
- Select which pages to rotate — click individual page thumbnails or use "Select All" for the entire document.
- Choose the rotation angle — select 90° clockwise, 180°, or 270° clockwise from the dropdown.
- Click "Rotate Selected Pages" — PDFLE applies the rotation and generates a new PDF.
- Download — save the rotated PDF to your device.
When to use PDF rotation
- Correcting upside-down or sideways pages created by a scanner
- Fixing a landscape page embedded in a portrait document before printing
- Standardizing page orientation before merging multiple PDFs
- Preparing scanned documents for OCR processing, which requires correct orientation
The rotation is saved permanently into the output PDF. No temporary files are uploaded — PDFLE processes the rotation locally in your browser.
